Whitefishes are known all over the world for their great taste. There are a number of different recipes available for making delicious dishes of whitefish. According to your occasion and mood, select the right one and you will surely have a lot of fun in eating it. The following is a recipe of baked whitefish with vegetables which is literally finger licking good.
Baked Whitefish with Vegetables
It is always good to eat fish with vegetables and the combination of whitefish with different fresh vegetables of your choice can greatly enhance the taste of this delicious fish.
• Whitefish (any of your choice) – 2 lbs
• Cooking oil – 3 tablespoon
• Salt & pepper (according to your taste)
• Yogurt – 1 ½ tablespoon
• Onions (sliced) – 2 pieces
• Carrots (shredded) – 4 pieces
• Tomatoes (chopped) – 4 pieces
• Garlic cloves (minced) – 4 pieces
First of all cut the fish into small even pieces. The number of pieces you cut depends upon the size of the fish. Take a nonstick frying pan and put about ½ a tablespoon of oil into it. Place the pieces of fish into the frying pan and add some salt & pepper to it. Cook the fish for about 2 minutes per side to cook it evenly. Now transfer the fish into another plate.
Set the temperature of your oven to 300-350 degrees. Take the frying pan and add some oil again into it. Add onions with salt & pepper into the frying pan. Cook them for about 5 minutes then add carrots, tomatoes and garlic along with more salt & pepper and keep on cooking for about 10 minutes or so.
Take a baking dish and cover it with aluminum foil. Place a thin layer of vegetables into the dish. Now place one layer of fish over the vegetables and keep adding alternating layers of both fish and vegetables that you had prepared earlier. Spread some yogurt over the vegetables and place the dish covered with aluminum foil into the oven to bake for about 35-40 minutes.
